1 flown to hospital after crash in Summit Township
SUMMIT TWP — One person was taken by helicopter to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night, Oct. 22, on Oneida Valley Road in Summit Township.
The crash, involving a silver Chrysler sedan and a dark-colored SUV, was reported shortly before 8 p.m. A state trooper said the accident happened when one of the vehicles, which was exiting Henricks Road, collided with a vehicle traveling north on Oneida Valley Road.
Aside from the one person who required a LifeFlight, the other five combined occupants of both vehicles suffered only minor injuries.
Rob Shuler, chief of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, said Butler Ambulance Service transported the individual to Butler Memorial Hospital, where a waiting helicopter took them to another hospital.
As a result of the accident, traffic was restricted to one lane only, with flaggers, until emergency crews cleared the scene around 8:40 p.m.
State police, the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, the Butler City Fire Department and the Butler Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
