One taken by medical helicpoter after tri-axle truck flips, Route 8 in northern Butler County closed

MERCER TWP — One person was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital from the scene of a tri-axle truck crash Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, on Route 8 in Mercer Township.

Scanner traffic indicated the driver experienced a head injury and was outside the vehicle at the scene near 4202 William Flynn Highway. The crash was reported before 10:45 a.m.

Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company could be seen redirecting traffic from Route 8 onto Franklin Road. Emergency responders were asked to close Route 8 to traffic at Franklin Road and East Mercer Street.

State police were on the scene of the crash.
