Penn State Extension offering food safety courses

The Penn State Extension announced it will be offering a ServSafe Food Safety Manager course, which is aimed at restaurant and food service managers and others who need food safety certification.

It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 26 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Butler Township Park Building, 468 S. Duffy Road.

These in-person courses, led by certified ServSafe instructors, will teach participants how to prevent contamination of food by properly receiving, storing, preparing, cooking, cooling and serving it, along with sanitizing food service facilities.

The exam will begin at 11 a.m. Dec. 3.

The course fee is $145, and interested people can register at extension.psu.edu/food-safety-2024 or by calling 877-345-0691.
