Calhoon

Robert Bryan Calhoon, 80, of North Lewisburg, Ohio, went to be his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at his residence.

Robert was born on June, 20, 1944, in Jefferson, Ohio, to the late Rollin and Mary (Walker) Calhoon.

Following high school, Robert would go on to obtain his degree as a licensed minister from Olivet Nazarene University. He pastored across many churches, most notably at the Butler Church of the Nazarene for 25 years. Robert had a true passion and devotion for the Word of God. He loved teaching Sunday school and being involved in small groups at his churches. Robert would even handwrite his own book that he used to bring the Word of God to life in his Bible study groups.

In his free time, Robert enjoyed going on long drives across the country and taking in all of God's beautiful creation. He would also drive trucks and buses throughout his life, beyond his ministry. Most of all, however, Robert loved spending time with his grandchildren, where he would often be seen proudly supporting them at their games and events.

Robert is survived by his sons, Aaron (Shelby) Calhoon and Mark (Laura) Calhoon; grandchildren, Caylee (Alec Regrut), Sydney and Josie Calhoon; two great-granddaughters; brothers, Carl (Dale) and Tim (Carol) Calhoon; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 50 years, Pamela (Jeffrey) Calhoon; and a sister, Joan (Bill) Jeffrey.

CALHOON — A gathering of family and friends of Robert Bryan Calhoon, who died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at FRESHWATER, MCDONALD, VERNON FUNERAL HOME, North Lewisburg, Ohio.

Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Klett officiating. Livestream will be available on the Vernon Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 6:55 p.m.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Betzer Cemetery, 4025 Pickerington Road NW, Carroll, Ohio.
