Mark Lewis

Lewis

Mark Anthony Lewis, 70, of East Brady, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at his residence.

Mark was born Feb. 18, 1954, at Butler Memorial Hospital to Edward and Dorothy (Zacherl) Lewis.

He worked for many years as the night superintendent at PennAlly Coal Company in Fawn Township. After the mine closed, he opened Waterfront Boatworks, with his wife, in East Brady. Mark was a talented mechanic and enjoyed the challenge of repairing motors. He was also an accomplished carpenter, woodworker and stone mason. He put these skills to good use in building his home and on various remodeling projects.

In his younger days, he was a very good water skier and mastered barefoot skiing. He took pride in his rifle shooting and hunting abilities! “Hawkeye” thrived on excursions to Colorado, where he hunted and frequently acted as a guide.

Mark is survived by his former spouse, Dr. Elan Welter Lewis; his daughter, Katharyn Lewis; son, Joshua Lewis; grandchildren, Blair Wolfe and Bailey and Landen Lewis; siblings, Mary Seaman, Juliana Stoughton, Suzanne Bonacum, Edward Lewis and Dr. Jean Lewis; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Brian Mark and infant, Christopher Ryan; and one brother, Laverne Lewis.
