Pennsylvania Game Commission advises motorists to watch for deer
The Pennsylvania Game Commission is advising motorists in the Keystone State to stay alert and slow down this fall, as deer activity is ramping up.
According to the Game Commission, autumn is the time when younger bucks leave the areas where they were born to find new ranges, while adult bucks begin chasing after does.
Not helping matters is that daylight saving time will end Nov. 3, increasing the risk of deer/vehicle collisions in the dark.
According to the game commission, Pennsylvania leads the nation in insurance claims for vehicle/animal collisions. Motorists can stay alert by watching for “deer crossing” signs.
