Monroeville man charged with illegal possession, making false ID

A Monroeville resident has been charged in Butler County after an incident on Monday, Oct. 21, in which he is accused of running a woman off the road and pointing a gun at her.

Paris J. Hickman, 31, of Monroeville, has been charged with possession of a firearm when prohibited, carrying a firearm without a license, and making a false identification to law enforcement.

The alleged incident occurred on Monday, when officers received a call from a woman who claimed that she was run off the road by a man driving a dark-colored Volkswagen. She reported that the man then got out of his car and pointed a gun at her.

The Volkswagen was later detected by the license plate reader located at the intersection of Route 8 and Litman Road in Butler Township, and police caught up to it at a nearby Sheetz. According to the police affidavit, the driver identified himself as “Chistain Hickman,” but officers later identified him as Paris Hickman. The man reportedly admitted that he had given officers the identity of his brother, as Paris knew he had an active warrant on him.

Paris was previously convicted in Allegheny County of corruption of minors and child pornography in 2023, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm.
