One driver LifeFlighted after MVA in Summit Township
SUMMIT TWP — A woman was taken by medical helicopter from Butler Memorial Hospital Sunday night, Oct. 27, after suffering facial injuries in a two-vehicle crash shortly after 8 p.m. on Freeport Road.
The crash was reported shortly before 8:13 p.m., and took place near the intersection of Freeport Road and Headland Road, just outside a Dollar General. Two vehicles were involved, one of which was a white SUV.
According to Kris Bowser, assistant chief of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, neither vehicle had any occupants inside other than their drivers.
Bowser says that the injured driver was taken by East Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital, and was then taken by LifeFlight to another hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
The extent of the driver’s injuries is not yet known, and the crash is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
