The results are in — Reese’s are Butler County’s favorite Halloween candy
A week before the presidential elections, hundreds of Butler County residents took part in a different kind of selection — a poll to determine the county’s favorite Halloween candy.
The result was a landslide. Six hundred and sixty-seven Butler Eagle readers cast votes on the Facebook poll, and out of the six final choices, Reese’s peanut butter and chocolate candy was the runaway winner with 317 votes — or 47% of the vote.
Coming in a distant second was Kit Kat, with 18% (116 votes), followed by Snickers with 15% (96 votes), Hershey’s with 9% (61 votes), Milky Way with 6% (45 votes), and 3 Musketeers with 4% (32 votes).
The poll was conducted by first asking readers of the Butler Eagle’s Facebook page for their top five favorite Halloween candies. The most frequent answers were then compiled into a poll where readers could vote on their favorite out of six.
Of course, not all Butler County residents are fans of one of the six candies that made it into the final poll. In the comments section of the original call-out post, readers also gave nods to York peppermint patties, Rolo, Butterfinger, Mounds, Almond Joy and Clark bars, among others.
At a Halloween event in Cranberry Township on Friday night, Oct. 25, visitors gave answers including Reese’s, Twix bars and Skittles.
“Does anyone give out popcorn balls anymore?” asked one reader on Facebook. “Those were my favorite.”
