Elsie M. Wahl Houck, 88, of Zelienople, passed away on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at home.

Born July 22, 1936, in Butler County, the daughter of the late William R. and Elsie C. (Rossman) Myers.

Elsie retired from Mine Safety Appliances (MSA) in 1999, where she worked many years as an executive secretary. She was a member of the Zelienople Church of Nazarene, and formerly of the Sebring Church of the Nazarene in Florida. She most recently loved spending time with her family, but she had loved fishing, camping, traveling, crocheting, gardening and was very active in church ministry.

Elsie is survived by her son, Richard William Wahl and his wife, Carol (Brenneman) of Zelienople; five grandchildren, Amanda Johnson (Barkley) and her husband Steven of Rockwell, Texas, Jodie Gillespie (Barkley) and her husband Shawn of Fombell, Eli Wahl and his wife Julie (Thimons) of Harmony, Ryan Sue Wahl of Zelienople and Moses Wahl and his wife Ashley (Hulighan) of Mechanicsville, Va.; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard H. Wahl (55 years); her second husband, Ray R. Houck (six years); a son, James L. Wahl; and daughter, Rose M. (Wahl) Barkley; her parents; and many brothers and sisters.

HOUCK — Friends of Elsie M. Wahl Houck, who died Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the funeral home.

Elsie will be laid to rest at Evans City Cemetery.
