4 charged in Butler Township fight

Butler Township police filed charges against four people in connection with a street fight Oct. 25.

Hali R. Campbell, 33, of Lyndora; Kimberly D. Heard, 38, of Butler; Casey M. George, 36, of Butler; and Ashley E. George, 37, were charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment following the incident.

Police were dispatched to the area of Bessemer Avenue at Pacific Street for a report of a fight in the street, with callers reporting one person had a baseball bat and another might have had a gun.

Responding officers found Campbell walking with a bat, and she told police she had been jumped and the people involved left, according to an affidavit. She said she wasn’t hurt and didn’t need medical attention, but police said she had marks on her face and neck, and her hoodie appeared to have had something thrown on it.

Campbell told police her son made threats to a woman’s daughter, and the woman sent threatening text messages to her, according to the affidavit. Campbell told the woman to “pull up” and the woman arrived with four or five other people, and all of them started fighting in the street, according to the affidavit. She said two juveniles threw a pop bottle in her face and punched and kicked her.

She also told police she engaged in a fight with Heard and Ashley George, threatened them and bit Ashley George’s finger. She said she brought the bat to show that she wasn’t afraid of them and threatened to hit them with the bat if they didn’t stop attacking her, police said. She said Heard punched her and pulled her hair.

A witness reported seeing Campbell being dragged on the ground by several people.

Heard told police that she was walking down the street when she heard her son screaming. She said she had nothing to do with the fight, but she saw Campbell walking with a bat, according to an affidavit. Heard had no obvious injuries, police said.

Police contacted Ashley George, who reported Campbell’s son had been talking about her daughter, and Campbell came to her home earlier in the day looking to fight, according to an affidavit. Police noted that Ashley George had a mark on her face and her finger was bleeding.

Casey George told police that she went to Campbell’s home with her sister Ashley George and entered the fight after seeing someone hit her sister, according to an affidavit.

Preliminary hearings for the four have not been scheduled.
