The Butler Youth Baseball Association received a much-needed automatic external defibrillator as a donation from the Allegheny Health Network’s Cardiovascular Institute on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The association received its AED at a special presentation attended by association board members, children and parents, as well as AHN staff members.

According to a news release, the baseball association had tried to raise funds for an AED, but those efforts had fallen short. The AED will be placed at one of the association fields in case of a cardiac emergency during a baseball game or practice.
