Maude Amanda Morrow, 99, of Harrisville, formerly of Slippery Rock, West Liberty Borough, passed away at Grove Manor in Grove City on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024.

Maude was born in Cherry Township, Butler County, on Feb. 15, 1925, to the late Watson William Armstrong and Elizabeth Mae Patterson Armstrong.

She married Robert Luther Morrow on July 19, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 1968.

Maude graduated from a one-room school house in Cherry Township and then worked in the cafeterias at Slippery Rock University, as well as the housekeeping department, until her retirement in 1990 after 18 years.

She attended West Liberty United Methodist Church, and had memberships in the AARP Slippery Rock and national chapters.

Maude is survived by her daughter, Sandy L. (Gary) Snyder of Harrisville; grandson, Steven M. Mann; granddaughters, Treva J. (Douglas) Simmons and Kelli L. Snyder; great-grandchildren, Brandon (Abbey), Britton and Brienna Simmons; and great-great-grandson, River Simmons.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Paul Morrow, Sept. 30, 1949, to Sept. 30, 1952; six brothers, Fred, Paul, James, Howard, Henry and Andrew Armstrong; and sister, Mary Shoaff.

MORROW — Family of Maude Amanda Morrow, who died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, will receive friends from noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, with Pastor James Lewis, of Butler, presiding. Burial will take place at West Liberty Cemetery.
