Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments:
Oct. 7 — Ja’Mek L. Clarett, 20, of Youngstown, Ohio, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Sept. 22 traffic stop on New Castle Road in Butler Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Clarett was impaired. Police said Clarett later refused to have his blood tested.
Oct. 7 — Davyn A. Carulli, 22, of Irwin, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI, marijuana possession, drug paraphernalia possession and causing a vehicle crash that resulted in injury related to an Aug. 21 vehicle crash on Route 108. Police said Carulli’s vehicle crashed into the rear of a stopped vehicle causing a chain-reaction crash into two other vehicles. Police said one woman was hospitalized. Police said field sobriety tests showed Carulli was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system. Police said during a search of the vehicle, they found marijuana, smoking pipes and a grinder.
Oct. 7 — Scott H. Stich, 30, of New Castle, was charged with felony strangulation related to an Oct. 5 incident on Peaceful Valley Road in Washington Township. Police said during an argument Stich grabbed at another man’s throat multiple times while holding him over a porch railing.
Oct. 7 — Kristi L. Donahue, 53, of Saxonburg, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Aug. 10 report of an erratic driver on Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. Police said a witness followed the vehicle to a home on East Redoak Court. Police said field sobriety tests showed Donahue was impaired. Police said she later refused to have her blood tested.
Oct. 7 — Matthew R. Hubert, 47, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Oct. 10 traffic stop on Renfrew Road in Penn Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Hubert was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.166% In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
Oct. 7 — Douglas A. Detwiler, 27, of Evans City, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a Sept. 24 incident at the state police barracks in Butler. Police said Detwiler arrived drunk at the barracks to report on a different matter. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.089%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
Oct. 4 — Eric S. McElravy, 55, of Chicora, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Aug. 24 traffic stop on South Main Street in Chicora. Police said field sobriety tests showed McElravy was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.170%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.
Oct. 4 — Jaime S. Cardenas, 29, of Chicago, Ill., was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI, possessing marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia and leaving a vehicle crash scene related to an Aug. 28 reported hit-and-run on Route 422 in Clearfield Township. Police said they found and stopped Cardenas who was driving a rental truck. Police said they smelled marijuana, and a later search revealed pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes, a vape pen and vape cartridges. Police said Cardenas was unable to perform field sobriety tests, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system.
Oct. 12 — Sage L. Morgan, 21, of Beaver Falls, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and DUI related to an Oct. 12 traffic stop on South Main Street. Police believed she may have been impaired by alcohol. Police said when asked to exit the vehicle, Morgan refused and then resisted officers as they pulled her from it. She later kicked an officer in the chest and refused to have her blood tested.
