A Butler County business was honored when Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Pennsylvania held its annual awards event Sunday, Nov. 3 in Pittsburgh.

J & J Fire Protection Co., of Penn Township, was named Specialty Contractor of the Year and also was honored with the Diamond Level Safety Award for 2024.

The company is owned by William J. and Vicki L. Gass, of Penn Township, and James G. Shipley, of Oakland Township.

According to ABC, the awards aim to recognize the importance of innovation, complexity and safety that ABC advocates for across the sector.
