Margaret Wertz
Margaret R. (Rebholz) Wertz, 83, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.
Born on Aug. 7, 1941, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William A. Rebholz and Anna Margaret (Lunz) Rebholz.
Margie loved her family, and her grandchildren were the joy of her life. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting, playing cards and games, and gardening. Margie was known for her “World Famous Fudge.”
Margie met her husband, Bob, at St. Canice High School, and they had their first date when they were 14, on Jan. 4, 1956. They were married seven years later on Aug. 10, 1963.
Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Robert; her children, Robert (Deann) Wertz of Pittsburgh, Laura (Allen Karns) Strasser of Houston, Texas, Richard (Kelly) Wertz of Butler, Joan Wertz of Monmouth, Ill., and Melissa Wertz of Butler; her grandchildren, Trey (Megan) Wertz, Brandon Wertz, Chase Wertz, Raychel Wertz, Chloe Wertz, Jakob Strasser and Joey Strasser; her great-grandchildren, Jane Wertz and Caden Wertz; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill (Nancy), Andy, Norbert, Jim and Gene (Debby) Rebholz; her sisters, Alma Hakes, Beatrice (Frank) Novak and Mary White; and her sisters-in-law, Saundra Rebholz and Kathy Rebholz.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Warren, Raymond and Leo Rebholz, and Catherine Schlachter; and her granddaughter, Emily Wertz.
WERTZ — Friends of Margaret R. (Rebholz) Wertz, who died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler Township.
