Forward Township to host holiday safety class Dec. 3
The holidays don’t always mean good tidings and cheer to everyone. For some, they can bring injury and sudden financial loss.
That’s why Forward Township is hosting a holiday safety class at its municipal building at 6 p.m. Dec. 3, free to the public. The class will be hosted by Amy Marree, emergency management coordinator for Butler County.
The first segment will inform residents on how to stay safe while holiday shopping, both in person and online. A guest from the Evans City Volunteer Fire Department will speak on fire safety with holiday decorations, while Marree will conclude with a segment on winter preparedness.
“Forward Township takes safety seriously, and continues to be proactive in the arena of emergency management preparedness and promoting the safety of not only our residents but also the residents in Butler County and beyond,” township manager Tom Hartwig said.
Although the class is targeted mainly at township residents, all are welcome to attend. The class is free, but spots are limited and pre-registration is required.
“It’s primarily for Forward Township residents, but anyone can attend if they go online and register,” Marree said. “There’s a registration link on the township website because seating is limited.”
