Butler school district part of national superintendents’ learning system

For more than 40 years, the Butler School District has had its central offices and school board meetings in the Harriger Educational Services Center, located on Campus Lane on the same property as the senior high school.

Butler Area School District is one of six school districts nationwide recognized as a Learning 2025 Lighthouse System by the School Superintendents Association.

Selected districts are part of the association’s Learning 2025 Network, which includes more than 130 forward-thinking, learner-centered school systems united to enhance educational policy and student outcomes.

This award recognizes the work that faculty, staff, students, parents and community members have done to engage in meaningful dialogue that helps create connections and align resources to best serve all students. More specifically, this award recognizes the community's dedication to shaping the BASD Portrait of the Graduate, establishing unique themes at each elementary school, and, most recently, creating the Community Compact for Children.
