As a child of the 1950s (with its grade school duck and cover drills), I will never forget Nikita Khrushchev (the Russian tyrant at the time) saying, “We will not defeat you with bombs; we will bury you from within!”

To my 8-year-old mind, that made no sense. Surely we needed to be afraid of bombs.

But as of Nov. 6, the executive, legislative and judicial branches are under the control of someone who does not have the maturity, intellect, moral compass or humanity to be entrusted with this unfathomable, unchecked control. Especially as he's always been in Russian President Vladimir Putin's back pocket. Or in the back pocket of anyone who played him with flattery.

God have mercy.
