Thomas Geiger
Thomas L. Geiger, 92, of Middlesex Township, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024.
Born in Erie on April 6, 1932, he was the son of the late Carl Geiger and Ethel Mae Say Geiger.
He was the beloved husband for 60 years of the late Mary Ann Knorpp Geiger; loving father of Garrett Geiger (Tim), Daniel Geiger, Stephen Geiger and Arthur Geiger (Deb); and brother of David Geiger (Mary), Mary Ellen Demmick (Allen) and Richard Geiger. He also is survived by two grandchildren, Timothy and Amanda; and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Skylar.
A U.S. Army veteran, Tom was a structural and analytical engineer for Westinghouse Corporation. He was an inventor and owner of several patents at Westinghouse pertaining to counter vibration devices. Tom also was an engineer on the Gemini program with NASA in the 1960s and spent many years engineering nuclear pumps for naval submarines. He designed and built his home in Middlesex, was an avid and skilled tennis player, and was a model train enthusiast who won national recognition for his models.
GEIGER — Friends of Thomas L. Geiger, who died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark Parish, Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler. Interment will follow in Holy Savior Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark Parish, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, PA 16002.
