G. Alan Osan

Osan

G. Alan Osan, 75, of Harmony, formerly of Natrona Heights, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024.

Born Aug. 19, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Alan was the oldest son of George Osan and Helen (Gatial) Osan, both deceased.

He was a 1967 graduate of Malabar High School in Mansfield, Ohio, and earned his bachelor’s degree in 1972 in chemical engineering from the University of Cincinnati.

Alan spent 20 years of his career in the chemical industry followed by another 20 years in management consulting.

He excelled in his professional life, most specifically during his time as a master expert asset productivity and maintenance/reliability — entity partner at McKinsey & Company where he provided best practices and was looked to as a mentor for many of his colleagues. This role allowed him amazing opportunities to travel the world and meet wonderful people.

However, the most important work and title in his life has always been Dad. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He treasured spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandson, Bram. He enjoyed researching his family ancestry, journaling, reading, watching old movies and Pittsburgh sports.

Amid his many health battles, which began in 2017, Alan never allowed the circumstances to deter his positive spirit. His faith, family and friends supported him through numerous health trials, and he always saw the bright side to any situation.

Alan was the beloved husband of Karen (Klara) Osan, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage; affectionate father of Peter Osan (Jaimie) and Katie Huttinger (EJ); proud grandfather to Bram Osan (Peter and Jaimie); and dear brother of Geoffrey Osan (Pat), Garry Osan (Diane), Greg Osan (Grace) and Nicolette Strawoet (Gene).
