A $250,000 grant for the rehabilitation of Diamond Park was among three state grants announced by state Rep. Marci Mustello, R-11th, on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The grants, totaling $571,00, also include $275,400 for Winfield Township’s Commuity Park and $45,600 to renovate the playground at Emily Brittain Elementary School.

Planned improvements at Diamond Park include a new pavilion, pedestrian walkways, upgraded lighting and utilities, ADA-accessible features, landscaping, and signage.

Mustello said the Winfield Township grant will support a new multisport court and pedestrian walkway; and the Emily Brittain grant will be used for a pedestrian walkway, new play equipment, safety surfacing, ADA-accessible features, landscaping, project signage and site improvements.

The grants are part of the Community Conservation Partnerships Program, which is overseen by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The program provides financial support for local government and nonprofit projects aimed at advancing recreational locations and green space areas across the commonwealth.
