Doris Daugherty

Daugherty

Doris E. Daugherty, 76, of Butler, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, while under the care of Newhaven Court at Clearview.

Her favorite pastimes were reading, gardening, crafting and going for walks. However, above all, her family and friends were the center of her universe. She loved hosting dinners for game nights. She had a knack for putting people at ease and making everyone around her feel loved. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many.

Born Jan. 8, 1948, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Mervin L. Smith and Helen Mae (Weitzel) Smith.

Doris was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Butler. A 1966 graduate of Moniteau High School, she worked for the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), formerly Civil Service, in Boyers. She received many awards for her outstanding performance, innovative ideas and her ease of incorporating new ideas into their daily routine. She retired in January of 2008, after 44 years of service as a computer room supervisor.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sisters, Marilyn Smith of West Sunbury, Nancy Clark (Leslie) of Cochranton, Pa., Linda Beblo of Greenville, Pa. and Esther Petroski (Robert) of Harrisville; her brother, David Smith (Karen) of Hummelstown, Pa.; and several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold J. Daugherty, who died June 3, 2021; sister, Cleora Smith; brother, Mervin Smith; and brother-in-law, Curtis Beblo.

DAUGHERTY — Friends of Doris E. Daugherty, who died Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
