Jean Lynn Grey, 67, of Butler, has sadly passed away. She passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, surrounded by her family following an illness.

Jean was born on Sept. 22, 1957, in Port Lovaca, Texas, to Carol and Ralph McClafferty. Jean met the love of her life just a few short blocks from her own home in Butler’s South Side neighborhood and on Aug. 28, 1976, she married Ed Grey. Together they have three grown children. As a young woman, Jean worked at the VA Medical Center and Brown’s Boot Shop, both in Butler, before becoming a stay-at-home mom and homemaker which included cooking home made meals, cleaning, and caring for her family.

Jean had a smile and kindness that radiated, she was extremely selfless and would do anything for anyone if she could. Jean was a woman of faith and loved her family dearly. Jean was an avid animal lover of many kinds who loved spending time with her Chihuahua, Emma, time outside, watching her birds inside and outside in the yard and gardening. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, cross stitching, and playing Yahtzee with family.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Ed; and their three children, Gabrealle (Russell) Stewart of Brockway, Pa., Emily (Ashlee) Carroll of New Castle and Edward Grey of Butler and his three children, Luccey, Rexx and Elley; her father, Ralph McClafferty; sister, Trish (Keith) Rose and their children, Tanner Rose and Casey Rose; her mother-in-law, Lois Bishop; sisters and brothers-in-law, Penny (Kurt) Sinclair, Bob (Monica) Grey, Zach (Becky) Grey, Quint (Sherry) Grey, Lorrin (Bev) Grey, Vern Trajanovich and Lavonne Beamish; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol McClafferty; her grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

GREY — Funeral arrangements for Jean Lynn Grey, who died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, were entrusted to ROSE AND BLACK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, Stoneboro. Private funeral services were held at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
