PennDOT adjusting lanes on Route 68 for winter
For the next few months, traffic will look slightly different on Route 68 in Butler and Connoquenessing townships, as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is rolling out a new lane configuration for the winter.
The intersections at Brandywine Boulevard, Kreis Road/Eagle Mill Road, Whitestown Road, and Meridian/Benbrook Road will have a left turning lane in place. Also, between the Double Road/Stevensen Road and Meridian Road/South Benbrook Road intersections, a center turning lane will be in place with double yellow lines on each side.
Route 68 is currently undergoing an improvement project estimated to be completed in November 2025. The project, led by Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College, is estimated to cost $18.7 million.
