Clair Joseph Steighner Jr., “Bud,” 83, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at his home.

He was born Jan. 6, 1941, in Butler, the son of the late Clair J. and Helen (Beilstein) Steighner.

Clair was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 66. He worked at Steighner Crane Inc.

He was a member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He belonged to the Chicora Moose, Butler Antique Automobile Club and the Winnebago Club.

Clair was an avid toy collector. He enjoyed traveling, bowling and working on old cars, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren and his cats, Sadie and Snickers.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Donna (Sanderson) Steighner of Butler; his sons, John Joseph Steighner and Jared Scott (Carolyn Kobulnicky) Steighner, both of Butler; his daughter, Michelle Renee (Joseph) Saeler of Chicora; grandchildren, Jack Wyatt, Nicholas John Steighner and Jordan Joseph Saeler; brothers, Thomas Steighner of Chicora and Robert Steighner of Butler; three nieces; and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

STEIGHNER — A memorial service for Clair Joseph Steighner Jr., who died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 11, 2025, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, with Pastor Phillips officiating.

A celebration of life will be held at Herman Fire Hall on Jan. 11, 2025, following the service.

Burial will be private.
