Harvey’s Sweet Shoppe to temporarily close
Butler city bakery Harvey’s Sweet Shoppe, 148 N. Monroe St., announced on Facebook that owner Brittney Furka will temporarily close the business’s storefront.
In her statement on Facebook, Furka said she has decided to temporarily close the storefront to spend more time focusing on her family.
“Please know this wasn’t an easy choice, as Harvey’s Sweet Shoppe is such a huge part of my heart and has been built with the love and support of this amazing community — you,” Furka said on the business’s Facebook page.
Furka opened the Harvey’s in August 2022, making homemade sweet treats from scratch, which includes scones, muffins, danishes, custom cakes and more.
Harvey’s will still take custom orders, Furka said, and the final day of regular operation for the time being will be Nov. 30.
“But this isn’t goodbye! I’ll still be baking and taking custom orders,” Furka said. “Please keep ordering from our holiday menus, inquiring for your custom orders through our website and booking your parties with us too.
“While I take this time to focus on family, your orders and party bookings will help keep the heart of Harvey’s Sweet Shoppe thriving.”
The business will be open for normal hours on Nov. 26 and 27, followed by days off on Nov. 28 and 29 for Thanksgiving.
