Larry Sedwick Jr.
Larry D. Sedwick Jr., 53, of Cedar Lake, Ind., formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away suddenly as a result of an accident on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024.
Larry was a 1989 graduate of Slippery Rock Area High School.
At the age of 18, Larry started his 35-year career as a laborer at Mercer Lime & Stone in Branchton, Pa. He eventually worked his way up to site operations manager of Carmeuse Lime & Stone in Gary, Ind. At the time of his death, he was area manager of the north division at US Aggregates in Lowell, Ind. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Larry was a beloved husband and best friend to his wife, Jillian Sedwick of Cedar Lake. He was a loving father to Steven Sedwick, Alyssa Kelly, Ben Sedwick and Lizzie Sedwick, all of Cedar Lake. He was a devoted Pappy to Jasmina and Aubrey Kelly of Cedar Lake and a loving stepfather to Bill and Wyatt Crocilla. He was the dearest brother of Kathy (Jeff) Ferringer and Regina (Jeff) Cornelius of Slippery Rock, Scott (Kelli) Madey of Goldsboro, N.C., and Jason (Virginia) Madey of Falls Church, Va. He was the cherished stepson of Doug Arblaster of Slippery Rock. In addition, he is also survived by the mother of his children, Amy Sedwick of Cedar Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Arblaster; his father, Larry D. Sedwick Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Burdette and Martha Hoffman; his paternal grandparents, the Rev. Dale and Lois Sedwick; and his former in-laws, William and Doris Buchanan.
SEDWICK — Services for Larry D. Sedwick Jr., who died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, were held Friday, Nov. 15, in Cedar Lake at ELMWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in Slippery Rock at Camp Crestfield Conference Center, 195 Taggert Road.
