Law no longer respected

After moving to allow ballots to be counted that were disqualified by the state Supreme Court, Bucks County Commissioner Ellis-Marseglia believes the “court doesn't matter in this country anymore” because “people violate laws anytime they want.”

Ellis-Marseglia's assessment of our lack of respect for laws and rules is spot on. For decades the federal and state governments have violated the civil rights of citizens.

The Biden administration allowed millions of migrants to enter our nation illegally. I feel the executive branch and Congress violated their oath of office by not defending and protecting citizens from harm conducted by foreign nationals who now illegally reside in our country.

As a nation, we have failed to elect law-abiding citizens who we expect to uphold the constitutional laws and statutes constituting that “we the people” have sovereign authority over our government.

George Pikoulas, Butler
