The artwork of two Mars Area High School students has been selected for the 2024 Slippery Rock University Regional High School Art Exhibition.

Seniors Ava Herbolich and Sami Mazurek were honored at the art exhibit at the university’s Martha Gault Gallery earlier this month.

Herbolich received the faculty choice award for her graphite on paper, “Homage to Thomas Whiteside.” Herbolich’s acrylic on canvas, “In the Orange,” along with two works by Mazurek, “Healing Water” and “Growth is Pain,” both acrylic on canvas, also were featured in the exhibit.

Of the 230 entries submitted by high school students from around the region, only 70 were selected for the exhibition.
