Two masked people charged with breaking into payment kiosk
Two Evans City residents were arrested early Wednesday, Nov. 27, after police said they broke into a payment kiosk wearing face masks.
Butler Township police charged Jason Priester, 22, and Tressa Kirkwood, 36, with conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and possessing instruments of crime.
Police said they responded to Madd Skills Gaming at the Greater Butler Mart at 3:17 a.m. and security personnel reported that two people wearing ski masks used crowbars to break into a payment kiosk.
Officers from the township and Butler city police caught Priester and Kirkwood behind the shopping plaza after they tried to flee. Police said Priester and Kirkwood were found with a duffel bag, crow bars and three cash boxes from the kiosks containing an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Both suspects were placed in the county prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
