The sun rose in the East this morning

But it doesn’t shine as bright.

Two years have come and gone

Since we lost our Eternal light.

Blue skies replaced by darkness

As an endless storm descends.

Tidal waves of tears and sadness

To which there is no end.

As the sun begins to set

The moon lights the dark night sky.

Twinkling stars like diamonds

Remind us of your beautiful shining eyes.

Dropping to our knees to pray

We are overcome with grief.

A feather falls from Heaven

A sign that you are at peace.

There is no greater love on earth

The family ties that bind.

A loss to those who knew Joey,

A gentle soul, a loyal friend,

Gone way before his time.

Any parent that lost a child, knows these words are true.

Not one day passes by, that we don’t think of you.

Miss and love you so much, Son.
