James De Lair

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James K. De Lair on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, in Gladwin, Mich. He was formerly of Annisville.

Jim was born in Saxonburg to Lawrence and Freda (Cypher) De Lair on Oct. 14, 1944. He was a 1962 graduate of Moniteau High School.

He had 35 years with General Motors. He was a millwright and retired as the vice president of the United Auto Workers Union 659, of the auto and truck plant of Flint, Mich.

Surviving are daughters, Billie Jo (David) Fox of West Freedom and Linda Cervenec of Kennerdell, Pa.; sons, James K. De Lair Jr. of Kentucky and James W. De Lair of Grand Blanc, Mich.; sister, Darlene Cabot of Cleveland, Ohio; and brother Lawrence “Buck” De Lair Jr. of Parker; six grandkids; and eight great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy; older sister, Joyce (John) Erie; and a brother, William De Lair.
