Butler County Historical Society hosted its annual Christmas Cookie Walk on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Senator Walter Lowrie House in Butler.

The event is the group’s biggest fundraiser of the year, because the society sells $10 bakery boxes for visitors to fill with cookies as they stroll through the house, which is decorated for Christmas with modern and some old-school pieces populating the scenes.

Volunteers from the historical society as well as schools and other community organizations helped direct people through the house and passed out cookies. Butler County Community College students performed music throughout the afternoon.

The event started at 4 p.m. and continued until the 3,000-plus cookies ran out.
