Knoch’s girls basketball team earned its first win of the season, a 56-30 triumph at home Thursday against Valley.
Karlee Buterbaugh netted 22 points while Neah Ewing dropped 14, including four 3-pointers, for the Knights (1-5).
Slippery Rock 60, Titusville 27 — A double-double from Madison Romanovich (15 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists) paced Slippery Rock to this victory.
CJ Sabo added 17 points and seven rebounds, Brielle Jordan nine points and six boards.
South Fayette 70, Mars 25 — The Planets dropped to 2-2 with this loss at home.
Boys basketball
Despite 19 points from Brendin Sankey and 13 courtesy of Connor Ealy, Moniteau lost a 57-52 decision to Clarion-Limestone.
The Lions were led by Paul Craig’s 32 points.
Archbishop Hoban (Ohio) 76, North Catholic 53 — A 39-23 deficit at halftime was too much for the Trojans to overcome.
Jude Rottmann led a quartet of North players who scored in double figures with 17.

Mars and Hopewell’s boys swam to a 44-44 tie.
