Three people charged following gun incident in Butler
Three people have been charged following an early Monday incident when police said a shotgun was pointed at a Butler man after he had been threatened.
Jalynn M. Eason, 30, Cullen E. Bickham, 24, and Sebastian M Bickham, 23, all of Butler, have been arrested and placed in the county jail.
Butler police said multiple people called to report five people fighting in front of a home in the 300 block of Liberty Street at 2:22 a.m. and that one of the people retrieved a shotgun from a nearby apartment.
Responding officers found Eason and the Bickhams on the sidewalk and saw a shotgun on the ground. After Sebastian Bickham attempted to pick up the gun, police held the three people at gunpoint and ordered them to get on the ground, according to affidavits.
Eason complied with the order, but the Bickhams did not and resisted officers’ efforts to place them in handcuffs, according to the affidavits. Eventually, they were handcuffed, and police said all three were intoxicated.
Two people who live in the house told police that Eason and the Bickhams were in their house visiting one of their daughters, but they were told to leave after the visit became rowdy, according to affidavits.
They refused to leave and said they wanted to fight, so the residents agreed to fight them outside then locked the door after the Eason and the Bickhams walked outside, according to affidavits.
The Bickhams pounded on the front door and the residents went outside to tell them to leave when Eason pointed the shotgun at them, according to affidavits.
Eason was charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, defiant trespass and public drunkenness, and jailed in lieu of $25,000 bond. The Bickhams were charged with resisting arrest, defiant trespass and public drunkenness, and placed in the county prison in lieu of $15,000 bond.
