Nicholas Krchelich Jr.

Nicholas M. Krchelich Jr., 89, of Saxonburg, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at VA Butler Healthcare.

Born Aug. 19, 1935, in Annadale, he was the son of Nicholas Krchelich and Pauline Montest Krchelich.

Nick served his country in the U.S. Navy during Korea. Upon returning home, he went to work at the US Steel sintering plant in Saxonburg as an equipment operator, until the plant closed. He then went to be a custodian for the Freeport Area School District.

Surviving are his wife, Della Mae (Hay) Krchelich, whom he married April 25, 1957; his children, Nicholas Michael (Joy) Krchelich of Saxonburg, John Paul (Sue) Krchelich of Natrona Heights, Cindy (Wesley) McCoy of Sarver, Patty (Bob) Lambing of Apollo, and Tina (Scott) Scholl of Six Mile, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Paul Krchelich.

KRCHELICH — Services for Nicholas M. Krchelich Jr., who died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, 943 Route 910, Cheswick, Pa., with the Rev. Leslie Nolker officiating.

Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations may be made to any disabled veteran’s organization.

Arrangements have been entrusted to FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
