Kelly’s task force releases transcripts of 46 interviews
The 13-member task force chaired by U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th, has publicly released the transcripts from all 46 interviews it conducted with local, state, and federal law enforcement personnel during its investigation into the assassination attempts on President-elect Donald Trump.
This comes three days after the task force released the final report on its investigation into the assassination attempts.
The subjects interviewed include members of the U.S. Secret Service; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; Pennsylvania State Police; the Butler County Sheriff’s Office; the Butler Township Police Department; Butler County Emergency Management department; and the Emergency Services Units of both Butler and Beaver counties.
Information from these transcripts was worked into the task force’s final report, released to the public Tuesday, Dec. 10. While each interview has been posted to the task force’s official website, names have been redacted, along with other sensitive information.
In addition, the task force posted two new videos to its official YouTube channel on Thursday, Dec. 12, to help explain the findings of its final report. The videos feature Kelly on location at the site of the Butler Farm Show grounds, where the attempt on Trump’s life took place July 13. Kelly was present at that rally, along with some of his family.
In the videos, Kelly demonstrates the planning and security failings that gave the shooter the chance to fire eight shots in Trump’s direction, which ultimately led to the death of rally attendee Corey Comperatore and serious injuries to two others.
