Police Reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Middlesex Twp

Nov. 12 — Peter A. Matthews, 37, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor bad checks related to a Nov. 7 investigation. Police said Matthews, operating on behalf of DBA Matthew Home Improvement, wrote a bad check in the amount of $2,624 to H.P. Starr Lumber, and he has yet to make a full payment.

Nov. 7 — Ernest G. Nicholas III, 47, of Gibsonia, was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia related to an Oct. 29 traffic stop on Route 8. Police said while talking with Nicholas, they spotted a straw coated with white powder. Police said the powder tested positive for meth.

Nov. 13 — Raymond J. Sanderson, 26, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia related to an Oct. 11 arrest. Police said they arrested Sanderson for an active warrant in the parking lot of a gas station on Route 8 in Brady Township. Police said during the arrest they found a small bag of suspected crystal meth.

Nov. 13 — Thomas S. Sadler, 61, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and possessing drug paraphernalia related to a Sept. 17 report of an erratic driver who hit a guardrail and stopped in a parking lot along Route 8 in Brady Township. Police said they found Sadler and his damaged vehicle. Police said field sobriety tests showed Sadler was impaired, and a later blood test showed fentanyl, meth and marijuana in his system. Police said while searching Sadler’s vehicle they found residue-laden plastic bags that tested positive for cocaine.

Nov. 13 — Ronald P. Lamping Jr., 53, of Forestville, and Triston L. Galarza, 27, of Slippery Rock, were charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and possessing stolen property related to scrap metal stolen Nov. 11 from a Route 8 business in Slippery Rock Township. Police said the pair stole various scrap with a total value of $136.30.

Nov. 13 — Autumn D. Green, 45, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor counts of DUI, drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession related to an Oct. 9 traffic stop on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Green was impaired, and a later blood test showed methadone and meth in her system. Police said while searching the vehicle, they found various pill stashes and a smoking device.

Nov. 13 — Thomas W. Dovey, 39, of Grove City, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Oct. 12 on Route 173 in Brady Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Dovey was impaired, and a later blood test showed marijuana in his system, as well as a blood alcohol content of 0.136%. In Pennsylvania 0.08% is the legal limit.

Nov. 13 — Gavin D. Wiefling, 34, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Aug. 31 traffic stop on Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Wiefling was impaired, and a later breath test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.205%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Zelienople

Nov. 5 — Michael L. Stockett, 42, of Harmony, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct related to a Nov. 2 disturbance on Mercer Street. Police said Stockett was yelling and screaming at another man who was painting a fence. Police said when asked to leave the scene, Stockett refused and continued to yell. Police said they had to force Stockett to the ground to make the arrest.
