Stitt 50th anniversary
Don I. and Glenda M. Stitt, of Franklin Township, are celebrating 50 years of marriage on Saturday, Dec. 14, with a family dinner at the Saxonburg Hotel.
Stitt and the former Glenda Protch were married Dec. 14, 1974, at St. John’s Reformed Church on Evans City Road.
The couple both worked at the Butler Eagle, where they met on Glenda’s third day of employment. Don worked in the Eagle’s composing department and Glenda worked in the advertising and accounts receivable departments. They were married 19 months later.
The Stitts have two children, Jodi M. Stitt of Portersville and Paul M. Stitt of Butler. They also have four grandchildren, two boys and two girls.
Don retired from Harsco as a heavy equipment operator. His wife retired from the Butler Eagle.
