Pets visit Santa at Butler YMCA
Santa Claus had a busy day Saturday at the Butler YMCA.
Pet owners brought their dogs to “Paws with Claus” to have photos taken with Santa in the afternoon after children had cookies with jolly old St. Nick in the morning.
YMCA member and “Yellowstone” fan Tina Zacherl, of Cabot, brought Dutton, her year-old miniature golden doodle, for a photo op with the man in the red suit.
Zacherl said she is planning to use the photo for Christmas cards.
“He loves other dogs,” she said.
Nicole Confer of Butler and her daughter, Mackenzie, brought their dogs to meet Santa and use the visit as a socialization and training exercise, and enjoy the Christmas spirit.
“I thought it was pretty cool,” Mackenzie said after the brief photo shoot with Spark, a 2-year-old border collie.
Nicole said she liked the idea of bringing the dogs to the Y’s first “Paws with Claus” event. She brought her year-old French bulldog, Eleanor.
Rebecca Baker and her daughter, Averie, 10, brought their 8-year-old miniature dachshund Daisy.
The Bakers recently joined the Y and thought it would be fun to see Daisy sit on Santa’s lap.
