Man charged with shooting floor during argument with stepson
Police charged a 67-year-old Zelienople man with recklessly endangering another person after they said he fired three gunshots into the floor of his home during an argument with his stepson.
Donald K. McKee was charged Friday by borough police after his stepson went to the police station and asked to be escorted back to the home to get his belongings following the Dec. 3 incident.
McKee led police to a loaded .45-caliber handgun and the kitchen of his Clay Street home, where three holes in the floor and three empty shell casings were found, according to an affidavit.
He told police he fears his stepson and fired the shots while they were arguing in the kitchen. McKee said he came home and found smoke detectors disabled and hanging from the ceiling, and his stepson told him the detectors kept going off while he was cooking bacon, according to an affidavit.
