Stephen Hartle

Hartle

Stephen “Steve” Douglas Hartle passed away on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024.

Steve was born on Oct. 5, 1950, in Bellevue, to Theodore and Arlene Hartle, who settled in Slippery Rock.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Hartle; children, Shane Hartle, Kirby Hartle, Tracey Mansour, Dustin Hartle, Alex Hartle and Laura Lee Otto; siblings, Roger Hartle, Edward Hartle, Constance “Connie” Cobane, Cynthia “Cindy” Heckathorn, Mary Lou Bowser and Lynn Hartle; and 11 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, SherylAnn Geibel and Sharon Meyerott.

Steve was a machinist and welder in his younger years and later ran successful contracting businesses. He was strong-willed and a fierce supporter and defender of family and friends. He would do almost anything for a laugh. His unique blend of hard-line and silly had a profound influence on everyone around him. With endless aspirations and energy, he could be tough to keep up with.

His passing leaves a void in our lives, however, we are thankful that he is in a better place. Godspeed on your next journey, Steve.
