John Hill

John R. “Tank” Hill, 63, of Freeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, at his home.

Born in Natrona Heights on Aug. 20, 1961, John was the son of the late Patricia Hilliard and Walter Hill.

John retired from Allegheny Valley Hospital after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed camping and cherished the time spent with his dog, Mattie.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Jo (Sell) Hill, whom he married Aug. 26, 2011; his daughter, Marcie (David) Sangaline of Greensburg; sons, Daniel Hill of Brackenridge and Wesley Hill of Penn Hills; and his stepdaughter, Alyssa (Ian) Forte of Butler. He also was the stepfather of Matthew Mainhart of Butler and Zachary (Melanie) Mainhart of Mount Pleasant. Tank was the grandfather to three grandchildren, Gunner Mainhart and Alex and Lucas Sangaline. He also is survived by several siblings, who will miss him dearly.

HILL — Family and friends of John R. “Tank” Hill, who died Monday, Dec. 16, 2024, are invited to pay their respects from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m.
