Police Reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler City

Nov. 14 — Cory M. Boros, 31, of New Castle, was charged with felony theft related to a theft reported Nov. 13 at the Marathon gas station. Police said Boros was an employee and stole more than $9,800 from the store’s ATM throughout the month of October.

Cranberry Twp

Nov. 12 — Lisa R. Warner, 47, of Zelienople, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to an Oct. 26 incident at Giant Eagle. Police said Warner tried to steal 42 grocery items worth $296 total.

Nov. 8 — Ryan A. Clayton, 28, of Bronx, N.Y., was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to a Nov. 7 incident at Walmart. Police said Clayton tried to steal 33 items worth $298 total.

Butler County Detectives

Nov. 13 — Police charged two people related to an Oct. 4 parole check. Michael C. Bastian, 27, and Heidi M. Bigger, 24, both of Butler, were charged with misdemeanor counts of drug and drug paraphernalia possession. Police said parole officers found suspected crystal meth, smoking pipes and a digital scale in the home, which the two share.

Butler Twp

Nov. 13 — Charles T. Conway, 31, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Oct. 19 single-vehicle crash on Whitestown Road. Police said Conway ran his vehicle into a utility pole. Police said field sobriety tests showed Conway was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.180%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Nov. 12 — Avalon J. Dietz, 18, of Oil City, Pa., was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia related to a Nov. 4 incident at Butler Senior High School. Police said Dietz, who was not a student, was found with a marijuana vape on school property.

Nov. 8 — Christie L. Adamsky, 48, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an Oct. 5 vehicle crash on Old Plank Road. Police said Adamsky left the road and hit multiple mailboxes. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, and a later blood test showed her blood alcohol content at 0.182%. In Pennsylvania, 0.08% is the legal limit.

Nov. 8 — Jon R. Shay, 41, of Butler, was charged in two separate cases. In one case, Shay was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to an Aug. 9 incident at Kohl’s. Police said Shay stole two vacuums and clothing worth $679 total.

In the second case, Shay was charged with misdemeanor counts of retail theft, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession related to a Nov. 6 incident at Target. Police said they arrested Shay after he tried to steal a TV and an air purifier worth $805 total. Police said during the arrest they found a small baggie of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe.

State Police, Butler

Nov. 12 — Brittany P. Lynn, 27, of Renfrew, was charged with misdemeanor counts of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia related to an Aug. 6 investigation of a separate incident at Sheetz in Center Township. Police said they noticed Lynn was at a dangerous level of intoxication. Police said the vehicle Lynn was in was reported stolen, and while searching it, they found suspected crack cocaine and brass wire in Lynn’s bag.

Nov. 8 — Michael C. Hornyak, 62, of Valencia, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a July 26 two-vehicle crash on New Castle Road in Butler Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Hornyak was impaired, and a later blood test showed a prescription medication with a known side-effects of dizziness and drowsiness.
