Rebecca (Fleming) Oesterling, 78, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024.

She was born in Butler on April 24, 1946, to the late Dale and Grace (Beikert) Fleming.

Rebecca graduated from Butler High School in 1964, and worked for Butler Area School District for many years as a cafeteria monitor and paraprofessional. She also worked for several businesses and organizations as a bookkeeper.

Rebecca was a member of Crossfire United Methodist Church. She was known as “Mrs. O” to the kids at school and “Oma” to her grandchildren. Rebecca loved working with kids and exploring the back roads of Pennsylvania. She enjoyed going on “Bologna, Milk and Cheese” runs and visiting family in Alaska.

Rebecca was the beloved wife of the late John Oesterling, whom she was married to for nearly 58 years; mother of Kris-Ann (Daniel) Wilcox, Marsha (John) Blum, Paula (John) DeRunk, Ryan, Sara and Jane Oesterling; grandmother to 23 grandchildren; and great-grandmother of three.

OESTERLING — All services for Rebecca (Fleming) Oesterling, who died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
