State police charge man accused of leaving dog overnight
A man state police say left his dog outside the Butler County Humane Society in a cage overnight has been charged in the case.
Douglas Fleeger, 65, of Karns City, is accused of taking his dog to the humane society around 6 p.m. Nov. 26, removing the cage the dog was in from a trailer and leaving the dog and dog cage behind when he left. Temperatures dipped nearly to freezing that night, police said.
According to a news release, Fleeger admitted leaving the dog during an interview on Dec. 13.
The charges Fleeger was facing were unavailable Saturday morning.
