Young

Theodore “Grizz” Young, 79, of Fenelton, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024.

He was born in Sewickley on June 28, 1945, to the late Sidney and Margaret (Umbaugh) Young.

Grizz graduated from East Brady High School and honorably served in the U.S. Army, completing two tours in Vietnam. He was employed as a truck driver and previously a heavy equipment operator.

Grizz was known by everyone anywhere he went, and he enjoyed all things football, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.

Grizz was the beloved husband of Cinda (Beneigh) Young since their marriage on Sept. 24, 1985; father of Kelly (Kevin) Hesidenz, Richard (Dana) Young and Joshua Young; stepfather of Gary (Tomi), Richard (Crystal) and Brian (Vonda) Graham; brother of Al (Norma) Musloe; grandfather of Emma and Nolan Hesidenz, Shawna (Chad) Campbell, Tony (Ashlie) Carbin, Kayla Young, Zachary (Heidi), Tyler (Baylin), Caleb (Kaylee) Graham and Celeste (Bryce) Ellenberger; and great-grandfather of seven. Grizz is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Grizz was preceded in death by his son, Robert Young; and his daughter, Shannon Carbin.

YOUNG — All services for Theodore “Grizz” Young, who died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

Burial will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
