No injuries, but kittens missing after fire in Muddy Creek Twp.
MUDDY CREEK TWP — Nobody was injured, but the owners’ kittens were unaccounted for when a mobile home caught fire Friday afternoon, Dec. 27.
The call came in around 4:15 p.m. for a fire on Cheeseman Road, according to Todd Hinkle, assistant chief of Portersville Muddy Creek Volunteer Fire Department. No one was inside the home when the fire started.
Firefighters found the mobile home ablaze, but were able to control the fire by 5 p.m., Hinkle said. The property was destroyed in the process.
According to property owner Jonathan Schaelchlin, clothing and firearms were lost in the fire. A litter of kittens were also missing.
“I don’t know if they made it out,” Schaelchlin said.
Five stations responded, including Prospect Volunteer Fire Department and Harmony Fire District.
