Nelson Kloker
Nelson Kloker, 73, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024.
He was born in Butler on Feb. 19, 1951, to the late Arthur and Thelma (Vance) Kloker Sr.
Nelson graduated from Karns City High School and furthered his education at Vale Technical Institute. He had many jobs including auto body technician and body shop manager, insurance adjuster at State Farm, and sole owner of Kloker Appraisal Service.
Nelson loved hard, worked hard and prayed hard. He was always down for a road trip and loved to enjoy his morning coffee. Nelson was a role model to many men, showing them how to love and take care of their families.
In his free time, he enjoyed classic car restoration and appraisal, wood working, going to theaters and concerts, camping and traveling, and hosting Monday Night Football with friends. He enjoyed weekly gatherings with the guys from coffee club and going on motorcycle trips on his Harley. Nelson was a member of Lake Arthur Golf Club and Butler Area Street Machine Association; he was the cofounder of the Rodfathers and cofounder and instructor of Simply the Best Ballroom.
Nelson was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Silvis) Kloker, since their marriage on Oct. 13, 1990; father of Jennifer (Jeremy) Shepherd and Shawn (Loretta) Fisher; brother of Rosemary Leighton; stepbrother of Lorraine Robbins and Mark and Louie Earley; grandfather of Brittany (Peter) Lossing, Camden and Avery Shepherd, and Evan Fisher. Nelson also is survived by his cousin, Kathy Swain, who was like a sister.
Along with his parents, Nelson was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Kloker Jr.; and stepbrother, Jim Earley.
KLOKER — All arrangements for Nelson Kloker, who died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, were made through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 W. Old Route 422, Butler.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nelson's name to the Hillman Cancer Center or the UPMC Family House.
